U11's v Pembroke 14th. Jan. 2024

Today your U11’s travelled over the bridge to play Pembroke RFC.
We must thank Pembroke for the very warm welcome on arrival.
Llangwm warmed up well and with a full squad available, it was going to be a strong team that took to the field.
It wasn’t long before the mighty wasps got on the score board through our little flier Gracie.
She made her run (which went through multiple Pembroke players) look totally effortless to dot down in the corner.
Kyzer was next to add points on the board through a trade mark stomping gallop which Pembroke’s defence clearly didn’t want to get in the way of.
Griff continued to show how well he’s improving by scoring the next two tries. Both coming off the back of his superb support play and making it easy for his fellow teammates to off load to him.
Gethin made a stormer of a run across field, but just got brought down short of the line.
Harley-Jay was always in the right place today. He made two amazing try saving tackles and was literally an inch short of scoring himself!! Sooooo close!!
Llangwm we’re comfortably adding points to the board, so this gave us a prime opportunity to allow the players that wouldn’t normally get as much game time
to play pretty much the whole match.
Early on in the second half, Kyzer and Joey went for the ball together and unfortunately clashed heads. This resulted in both of them going off, but I’m very pleased to report that both soldiers have recovered well and they have both held onto their exceptional good looks! 💁‍♀️
Full credit to Pembroke, they didn’t stop battling on. They showed true character all game and their fully deserved try finally came through pressure off their line out which Llangwm failed to defend against.
Isla was back in action after a couple of weeks away due to sickness and she showed how important she is to this squad with a bulldozer of a try.
Literally knocking down players for fun to power over for a beauty of a try! 💪
With the score board comfortably in Llangwms favour, it gave opportunities to show case some moves we’ve been working on in the training shed.
Off the back of a scrum,  Bobby passed out to Tom who fed the ball to Grace, and with a looped run from Tom, Grace passed back to him which gave Tom space to attack and put us firmly into the Pembroke half. A few solid rucks later from Ollie, Oscar and Charlie, Grace then found herself with the ball in hand again and sprinted off to score her 7th try of the match.
Big well done to Joseph and Noah… these two put some huge tackles in all morning.
Pembroke have a player who should surely be called the ‘Pembroke Power Station’,  but these two mighty wasps kept him in ‘shut down’ mode all morning!! Well done boys! 💪💪
Carys and Dexter were yet again fully consistent with the conversions.
And both Ollie’s showed their upper body strength with some serious driving runs and equally as strong defensive tackles.
Final score
Pembroke 5 Llangwm 80.
There were parts of the game where Pembroke really took it too Llangwm,  but the wasps were just too powerful and scored tries with every opportunity.
Well done guys… another corker of a win on the road!!
